The holiday season can be a wonderful time to show care and appreciation to the people we love, including the ADHDers in our lives. These ideas work well for ADHDers at any age, from kids to adults to retirees. Many of us thrive when gifts are practical, fun, sensory friendly, or supportive of everyday routines. Below is a curated collection of ideas that can bring comfort, joy, and ease without promising to transform someone’s ADHD. These gifts simply offer a little help, a little delight, and a little support in the moments that matter.
Holiday gifting can be challenging when you live with an ADHD brain. It requires planning, organizing, remembering timelines, and keeping track of a budget, and these skills can feel out of reach during a busy season. Please be patient with yourself and approach this process with flexibility and self compassion. Gifts may be late, plans may shift, and you might even forget a gift entirely. You are human and doing your best, and that is more than enough.
Fidgets and Sensory Tools
Fidgets are small supports that can reduce restlessness, increase focus, or simply make the hands happy during long conversations or meetings. A great options include Fidget Newton. A fidget I discovered at the International ADHD Conference has become a favorite of mine. You can also enjoy a 10 percent discount by using the DANIELLAKARIDI code at checkout.
Books That Support and Inspire
Books can be grounding, validating, and genuinely helpful. They make great gifts because they let readers explore ideas at their own pace and revisit them when they need clarity or reassurance. A few favorites include:
Extra Focus by Jesse J. Anderson
ADHD is Awesome by Penn and Kim Holderness
It All Makes Sense Now by Meredith Carder
How To ADHD by Jessica McCabe
Your Brain's Not Broken and You, Me, and Our ADHD Family by Tamara Rosier

Noise Management and Focus Helpers
Many ADHDers are sensitive to noise or prefer predictable sound levels during work or rest. Loop earplugs continue to be a favorite among adults and teens. They help reduce overwhelming sounds while still allowing meaningful conversations. Loop products are discreet, portable, and perfect for travel, airports, classrooms, and open workspaces.
Gift Cards for Everyday Ease
Sometimes the kindest gift is one that removes a little stress from daily life.
Instacart or grocery delivery gift cards can save time and energy on overwhelming shopping trips.
Coffee shop cards can turn a difficult morning into a gentler one.
Bookstore gift cards give someone the freedom to choose their next read.
An Amazon gift card lets the recipient explore their next creative hyper fixation and select the craft supplies or materials that inspire them.
If you can send a digital gift card, it is even better. Many ADHDers misplace physical cards, and a digital copy reduces the chance of it getting lost. These gifts are thoughtful without creating clutter, and they empower the recipient to choose what fits their real life.
Coaching or Learning Support
For someone who wants to explore ADHD strategies, planning, or routines, a gift card toward coaching or an online course can be meaningful. It is not a quick fix, but it can be a supportive step toward understanding their own patterns and developing skills that feel more aligned with their goals.
If you would like to schedule a one to one coaching session with me, you can do that here: Schedule with Daniella karidi, PhD. If you prefer to explore additional ADHD professionals, you can search the broader directory through the ADHD Coaches Organization.
Support for the ADHD Community
Another thoughtful option is giving a membership or making a donation on behalf of your loved one. Organizations that support research, advocacy, and community education make a real difference. Two trusted options are CHADD and ADDA. A membership or donation can be a meaningful way to support ADHD awareness and strengthen the services available to individuals and families throughout the year.
Visual Timers
A classic Time Timer offers a clear visual countdown that can make tasks feel more predictable and less overwhelming. There is also a kid friendly version with rainbow colors and bunny ears, which can make routines feel more playful and inviting. These visual timers do not solve time blindness, but they can bring more clarity and reduce stress during homework, chores, or focused work.
A Gentle Final Note
If you find yourself overwhelmed while choosing gifts, know that you are not alone. The process requires planning, organizing, remembering deadlines, and staying within a budget, and those can be tough tasks for many ADHDers. Be gentle with yourself and try to approach this season with kindness rather than pressure. Your effort is enough, and your gifts do not need to be perfect to be meaningful.
If you have discovered gifts that have been especially helpful or meaningful for you or your ADHD loved ones, please share them with me. I am always updating this guide and your ideas make it stronger.
